HERITAGE & SIGHTSEEING

Lake Zurich, has always provided a waterway access to cross Europe.  It’s strategic location attracted many nations, who’s footprints were left on the city.  Celtic artefacts, Roman ruins, ancient churches, monasteries and many places of historical interest are worth exploring throughout the city and around the lake.

Zurich unites creative city life and idyllic scenery within the smallest of areas. Art connoisseurs and culture enthusiasts have over 50 museums and more than 100 galleries to choose from, while inquisitive city explorers can discover the striking contrast between the picturesque Old Town and the modern, constantly changing urban quarters.

Explore the city and the famous Bahnhofstrasse with its glamorous shops and boutiques, a wide selection of diverse restaurants, historic churches and Roman relicts in the old town, visit the majestic Opera House near Bellevue Square and indulge in the diversity of numerous galleries and museums across the whole the city.

One of the highlights on Lake Zurich is the beautiful boat trip to the picturesque town of Rapperswil, famous for its rose gardens, the medieval Castle and alleys in the old town and the longest wooden bridge in Switzerland perfect for romantic strolls.

A 30 minutes drive away, you can discover the imposing town centre of Einsiedeln with its baroque monastery, one of the most important places of pilgrimage in Europe with the Jakobsweg (St. James Path) running through the area.
